At the forum the possibility of having the elementary stay on a 5-day week and have the secondary move to a 4-day week was brought up. That solution would create lots of challenges from pay for staff working at the different levels to transportation issues. We wouldn't want elementary students doing 5 long days or to have to run transportation routes twice to account for separate school times.
Another option that has been proposed since the forum. Having a 5-day week to start the year through October, then switch to a 4-day week from November through February. Finishing the year with 5-day weeks from March through May.
