Out of our 26 events, 1️⃣8️⃣events received Division 1 ratings and will advance to State Individual Events. State Individual Events will be Saturday, March 14th at Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson School.

IHSSA All-State Festival! 💚🎭
Saturday, February 21st our East Union Speech Team traveled to Iowa State University for the All-State Festival.
Highlights:
✨ Our East Union Television Newscasting team received Special Recognition for their All-State Newscast, “Strange Things.”
✨ Mrs. McCollough was a Room Chair in the Television Newscasting and and Radio Broadcast with critic, Olivia Tyler, KCCI Channel 8 News.
An unforgettable experience surrounded by some of the very best talent in the state of Iowa.

Our East Union Speech team participated in the Pride of Iowa Individual Speech contest on Tuesday @ Corning, SWV.
🎭 Students performed in 21 events.
🎭 We received 14- I ratings and 7- II ratings.
🎭 We had 3 students receive an Outstanding Performance Award. Khloe Parker in Radio News, Olivia Findley in Storytelling, and Lexi Hansen in Poetry.

As part of College & Career Week, 7th grade students got to visit Greater Regional Health today! They took a tour of the hospital and got to hear from 4 different departments within the hospital. We think we may have some future doctors on our hands! Thank you Greater Regional staff for accommodating us and showing us all of your careers!

As part of College & Career Week, 6th grade students got to visit the Creston and Afton Fire Departments today! They took a tour of the facilities, got to see lots of cool equipment, and learned about what it takes to be a first responder. We even got special appearances from Afton police officer, Jake McGuire and East Union seniors, Jase Pettit and Gaige Mohr! Thank you all for volunteering your time today to show our students around!

Our FFA members traveled to Lenox for subdistricts on Tuesday, February 17th. It was a great day, with several events moving on to Districts.
•Parliamentary Procedure Team consisting of Brock, Gwen, Mia, Rebecca, and Maria received Silver and advanced to Districts
•Conduct of Meetings Team consisting of Hayleigh, Kaelee, Aimes, Peyton, Zoey, Lane, and Emma received Gold and advanced to Districts
