At Thursday night's track meet at Central Decatur, the Eagle Boys broke their own records on 3 separate occasions!!!!
- Morgan Cooley set a new Shot Put record with a throw of 60' 6.5" - breaking his own record of 59' 11" set earlier this season.
- Morgan Cooley set a new Discus record, throwing 164' 8" - breaking his own record of 160' 7" set in 2024
- Paul McNeill, Jensen Waigand, Braxdyn Tucker, and Anthony Pantoja bested their previous Shuttle Hurdle record of 1:12.71 set just this past Monday with a time of 1:11.97

The record was previously set in 2021 by Shane Lear, Scotty Driskill, Austin Lack, and Brody Kinyon with a time of 1:13.07.

Congratulations to the EU Golf team, who continued their hot streak to start the season! Today they competed in the Southwest Iowa Cup, a meet where they play 9 holes in Creston and 9 holes at home, for a combined score! Competing against Creston, Clarke, Mt. Ayr, Winterset, Lenox, and Nodaway Valley, the Girls took home the Girls Team Title, the Boys and Girls together took home the combined Team Title, and Zayne Eslinger took home 1st place for the Boys!
Looking back at the Art Club's incredible trip to Chicago from April 10–12! We packed so much inspiration into three days. Here’s a quick recap of our Windy City adventure:
🏛️ Museums & Discovery
On Saturday, we split up to explore the Field Museum and the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry. We all came together later to see the incredible aquatic life at the Shedd Aquarium.
🌃 City Heights & Cold Breezes
One of the absolute highlights was catching the sunset from the Skydeck Chicago Ledge at Willis Tower. We also took to the water for a Riverboat ride. It was definitely a cold one out there, but the views were well worth the chill!
🍕 Chicago Eats
You can’t visit Chicago without deep-dish! We enjoyed a late-night feast at Giordano’s and stayed fueled throughout the trip with everything from Shake Shack to the variety of options at Union Station.
🚆 On the Move
Our journey started early at the Creston train station to catch the Amtrak. Once we arrived at Union Station , we spent the weekend navigating the city by bus using CTA passes. The local Chicagoans were so helpful with directions while we were out on the town! One even walked us to our first bus stop of the journey.

Today we celebrated EU Senior, Tristin Lear as she signed her commitment to continue her academic and Softball career at SWCC! Congratulations Tristin!
The JH Boys and Girls Track Meet @ Wayne has been cancelled due to facility conditions and standing water. There will still be JH Track practice tonight/ Thank you!
The High School Girls Track team will NOT be competing at Clarinda tonight due to the weather forecast for the meet time and the travel times to and from Clarinda and the potential of traveling through severe weather.
The High School Boys Track Meet at Clarke for tonight has been cancelled.
The start time for tomorrow's HS Girls Track meet at Clarinda has been moved up to 3 pm.
East Union will have a 2 hr delay this morning, 4/7.
The High School Co-Ed Golf meet at Home tomorrow, 4/7 has been postponed due to weather. A makeup date will be announced at a later time.
East Union Fine Arts Department is excited to host Des Moines Metro Opera Iowa again this year. Wednesday, April 15th @ 7 pm, Opera Iowa will perform Cinderella. This event is free to the public. In conjunction with the evening performance, students will enjoy a performance during the school day of The Billy Goats Gruff, along with Masterclasses. This event is made possible by our Fine Arts Grant received this year.
