Mr. Walsh's Integrated Math 2 classes are learning the three basic trigonometry functions - sine, cosine, and tangent. A practical application of trigonometry is finding unknown measurements. The students used inclinometers and string to find the angle of elevation and the distance from the light pole to determine the height of the pole. Note: the tangent is defined as the ratio of the opposite and adjacent legs.
